Robert is a trial lawyer with more than twenty years of experience and has represented plaintiffs in cases involving car accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, and pharmaceutical injury cases. Robert was at the forefront of the Fen-Phen litigation where he was instrumental in developing the case and was co-counsel in the first Fen-Phen trial in the U.S. resulting in a multi-million dollar verdict in favor of their client. He successfully represented hundreds of other Fen-Phen victims in Texas and a number of other states including Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, and the District of Columbia.
A frequent lecturer and speaker, Robert has spoken nationally on different aspects of litigation. Robert was listed as a nationally recognized attorney in "How the Top Lawyers Stack Up" in D Magazine, 2001 and recognized as one of the "Top Ten Impact Players for 1999" in Texas Lawyer. He has been interviewed and featured on various television and radio programs, including Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, 60 Minutes II, WFAA News (Dallas ABC affiliate) and National Public Radio, and quoted and/or featured in various publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Texas Monthly, D Magazine, Dallas Morning News, and Texas Lawyer.
Robert received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, his Masters of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
Robert is a member of the American Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Mississippi Association for Justice, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas, Mississippi bar, and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
