70-Year-Old Killed In Fort Worth Hit & Run Crash

The Fort Worth police department needs our help.  At my personal injury law firm in Fort Worth, we want to do everything we can to catch the hit and run driver who killed 70-year-old Jerry Winton in front of a donut shop in east Fort Worth on Saturday.

Jerry Winton was out picking up breakfast for his family when he got into a minor fender bender in a parking lot at the corner of Weiler Road and Meadowbrook Drive. Winton and the other driver got out of the car and it looked as though they were going to exchange information. But then the other driver jumped in back in his vehicle and tried to speed off as Winton held on to the back of the car. Investigators said that Winton was dragged several feet until the driver hit and ran-over him. Winton was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where he later died.

This senseless hit and run accident could have been avoided if the other driver had just exchanged insurance information and not panicked. Winton had underinsured motorist coverage according to his family, so even if the other driver didn't have insurance Winton would have been protected.

If you have any information regarding this senseless hit-and-run accident, please call the Fort Worth police department at 817-335-4222. Jerry was a loving husband and served two tours in the Vietnam War. At the Anderson Law Firm, we really hope the person responsible for this horrible crime is brought to justice.
