Dallas Man Crashes SUV Into IHOP

Most people like to enjoy a hot breakfast and a mug of coffee in the mornings to gently wake them up, but visitors to a popular restaurant chain in Dallas got a rather ruder awakening this morning. Employees and customers at the IHOP at 7830 North Central Expressway were surprised by an SUV which crashed into the dining room shortly after 4.30 this morning.

Apparently the driver was arriving to meet some friends for their regular weekly breakfast at the restaurant and was just parking up when he accidentally put his car into reverse and accelerated through the exterior wall, ending up in the dining area inside.

As a Dallas-Fort Worth personal injury lawyer, I've seen other car wrecks similar to this in the past and have helped some of the injury victims from previous incidents. Fortunately, no one was injured in today's crash.

However, the incident proves once again that accidents can happen to anyone and at any time - even in parking lots! Driving when tired can be just as dangerous as driving after drinking as you are not aware of other motorists or other potential hazards and your reaction times can be prepared. If you're feeling sleepy, don't get behind the wheel. Take a break. If you've just got up, well, maybe you should have a coffee first before you head out?
