Dallas-Fort Worth Police Won’t Tolerate Drunk Drivers This Labor Day Weekend

Are you ready for the three-day weekend? Just remember two things: don't wear white after Labor Day, and drive sober or you'll get pulled over. I don't know about you, but as a Fort Worth personal injury lawyer, I've had my fill of drunk driver wrecks recently. It seems there's barely been a recent weekend without some intoxicated idiot driving the wrong way down the freeway causing a serious (often fatal) accident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there are 11,000 deaths in the US each year as a result of alcohol-related traffic crashes. This means that on an average day there are 29 people killed because someone decided to get behind the wheel after drinking. That's in addition to 1,440 injuries caused by drunk drivers each day. On holidays, the figure is typically considerably higher.

To discourage drunk drivers this holiday weekend, the US Department of Transport is cracking down on drunk drivers with their Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over campaign. Remember too, that on September 1st a new law came into effect in Texas that authorizes police to get a warrant to obtain a urine test if they suspect you've been drinking. It's not worth the risk on any level, no what angle you look at it.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a drunk driver, you want an attorney with a proven track record of success in winning compensation for similar auto accident victims. Mark Anderson has been taking a hard line against drunk drivers throughout DFW and North Texas since 1991. For a free consultation on your case, please call toll free at 800-354-MARK (6275) today.
