A Fort Worth man was arrested on suspicion of DWI after striking a parked Fort Worth patrol car and injuring a police officer Sunday afternoon. Investigators say Demarquis Gray, 25, struck Officer K. Davis' patrol car in the 1400 block of East Loop 820 in the northbound lane about 2:45 p.m. Sunday. Davis was sitting in the patrol car with all emergency lights activated as officers were diverting traffic from another accident. Davis was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital where his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
I am somewhat surprised to hear that this guy was intoxicated in the middle of the afternoon; however whatever time of the day it is drunk drivers are always dangerous. Automobile accidents that take place during the weekend are alcohol related 50% of the time. I hope that the officer involved in this accident is released from the hospital soon and justice is served on Demarquis Gray.
