Garbage Truck Driver Killed in Collision With 18-Wheeler

A Texas man has been killed in a motor vehicle collision between a garbage truck and an 18-wheeler in Midland, TX.

David Bailey, 46, was a sanitation driver employed by the City of Midland.

On Tuesday, he was test driving a garbage truck owned by another company in order to consider using for the City’s own solid waste department.

At around noon, Bailey’s truck collided with an 18-wheeler semi-truck at the intersection of East Loop 250 and I-20 in Midland County.

Bailey was pronounced dead at the crash scene. It is not believed that the commercial truck driver was injured in the wreck.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

I would like to offer my most sincere condolences to Mr. Bailey’s family and loved ones.

I would also urge Mr. Bailey’s is surviving relatives to seek legal advice regarding his wrongful death in order to make sure that justice is done and that they recover the full and fair compensation that they are owed from the various liability insurance policies in existence with regards to this tragedy.
