Gene Hackman Hit by Car in Cycling Accident

Hollywood legend Gene Hackman was injured in an auto accident in the Florida Keys today. The 81-year-old actor famous for his roles in such films as The French Connection, The Royal Tenenbaums and the original Superman movies was apparently out cycling when a motorist crashed into his bike. Mr. Hackman was airlifted to a nearby hospital and was released several hours later. According to reports he suffered only minor injuries in the accident.
