Jacksboro Couple Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident

JACKSBORO, TEXAS - Early Sunday evening a couple from Jacksboro were killed during a wreck involving three vehicles. 

The accident occurred on Highway 199 near Agnes North. According to police, a pickup truck traveling east on Highway 199 lost control due to slick roads and skidded into the westbound lane. There, it struck a Honda driven by 36-year-old Amber Copeland of Forth Worth. 

A third driver, 67-year-old Gary Gresham of Springtown, was driving behind Copeland and attempted to avoid the accident. His pickup glanced against the Honda and was forced off the roadway where it crashed into a pipe fence. 

The driver of the first pickup truck that started the accident named Anastasio Bugarin and his wife Romana Bugarin were pronounced dead at the scene. A child riding with Gresham was also injured and taken to the hospital. 

In Texas, multiple vehicle accidents account for 47 percent of all fatal accidents. In 2014, there were 1,678 fatal multi-vehicle wrecks statewide.
