A motorcyclist, 36, was killed Sunday night on a Grapevine street after he lost control of his vehicle, hit a lamp post and then crashed through a fence. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the identity of the man pending notification of relatives. The crash happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on southbound South Main Street in Grapevine. The victim accelerated hard, lost control of his motorcycle, hit a street lamp in front of a business, and then crashed into a fence surrounding a construction site, police said. According to police reports, alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
There is a lot of information that is still unknown, but somewhere out there people are missing a son, a friend, and possibly a parent. The top three categories of why one dies in a motorcycle accident are: speeding, alcohol, and poor visibility. It sounds like all three of those factors could have been what went wrong in this horrific accident.
