It is believed that James’ Toyota Camry drifted into the wrong way lane on Jacksboro Highway which it collided head-on with Harris’ Ford Mustang. Both vehicles quickly became engulfed in flames. Both drivers were killed.
Since there were no eyewitnesses to the wreck, police are struggling to piece together the events leading up to and contributing to the fatal accident. Initially, they were unsure whether alcohol was a factor in the deadly crash, but according to friends and relatives of both Harris and James, neither of the motorists touched alcohol. The two cars are currently impounded at a forensic garage and the investigation is ongoing.
