In March, I blogged about the monster truck accident that left a young woman dead in the parking lot of the Spearmint Rhino in Dallas. Eric Crutchfield was charged with intoxication manslaughter for killing Kasey McKenzie of Granbury, TX when he hit her with his monster truck.
When I blogged on this accident, I had a feeling Kasey's family would file a lawsuit - and rightfully so! They lost their daughter to the negligent actions of a drunk driver and they deserve to hold that person accountable. They are also going to hold the Spearmint Rhino accountable for over-serving the drunk driver and have filed what is called a dram shop claim.
A few weeks ago I appeared on the CW the 33 News to talk about this terrible monster truck accident in Dallas. I gave my opinion as a personal injury attorney for the news story; you can watch the interview to see what I said:
