Q
My child was hurt on a friend's trampoline. We would like to pursue legal action for my child's injuries but are worried about what that will do to our friends who owned the trampoline. What will happen to our friends if we pursue an injury claim against them?

A
Depending on their homeowner's insurance policy, the compensation you receive for your child's medical treatments will come from the trampoline owner's insurance company. Any type of injury case where negligence lies with a friend or family member can be initially awkward. They are your friends or neighbors and you don't want to hurt them too! If this is rolling around in your mind it's important to remember two things:

  1. The reason people purchase insurance is to protect them from when accidents happen. That's exactly why they bought their policy.
  2. Trampoline injuries can be extremely serious and leave you and your family with thousands of dollars in medical bills.

If you are considering pursuing an insurance claim for your child's trampoline injuries, read this article.
