Any delays in going to the doctor after your initial injury help the insurance company attorney argue that you weren’t really injured or that your claimed injury was not very serious.  Insurance companies and juries believe that if you are truly hurt, you will seek medical attention immediately.  Some people try to deal with their injuries with rest and over-the-counter pain medications at home.  While this is admirable, it is disastrous for a claim.  If you’re hurt, go to the doctor!
