Accident Victims NEVER Should Exaggerate Their Injuries or Inability to Work

Under no circumstances should you be tempted to fib about your injuries in an attempt to increase the value of your claim. This will backfire every time! If you exaggerate your pain level or the problems you are experiencing because of your injuries, you must assume that you will get caught. Not only would that be illegal, as it's against the law to make a fraudulent claim in Texas, but it can be easily detected. Doctors see patients all day long who are making legitimate complaints about their specific injuries or illnesses. They have an innate ability to detect when someone is exaggerating their injuries. Doctors do not tolerate someone who lies about their symptoms and will often note those suspicions in the medical records. All medical records are very important in resolving a case, and any negative notes spell big trouble for a claim.

You can also wreck your case by making claims that you're unable to do your job when in fact, you can perform the functions of your work just fine. Insurance companies routinely hire private investigators to follow and videotape injured parties. If you're claiming you can't do your job because it requires bending, but on a Saturday morning you're picking weeds out of your front yard, it will come back to haunt you. You must carry on about your life during a claim assuming that the insurance company is watching you at all times. Honesty is the best policy.
