Will Making A Claim Take Too Much of My Time?

A common concern our firm hears from injury victims is the fear that the claim and lawsuit process will take too much of their time, therefore they can't decide if going through the process will all be worth it in the end. Everyone is busy and obligating yourself to another time commitment is the last thing you want to do. But then again, you didn't ask to be in an accident in the first place! The amount of time a claim will take depends on two key things:

- Whether you hire a lawyer
- Whether your case settles without having to file a lawsuit

If you decide to make a claim without a lawyer, you'll spend a considerable amount of time presenting the claim to the insurance company (that is, if you are doing it the correct way). You will have to do everything an injury lawyer does if you want to pursue your claim the right way on your own. Mr. Anderson and his staff of experienced professionals undertake many tasks each day to advance the ball on all of our client's claims. If you decide to go about your claim without an attorney, you will have to do the equivalent of our staff's work and Mark's legal work in order to present and prosecute your claim properly. On the other hand, if you do hire legal representation, the attorney and his or her staff will be the ones spending all of that time preparing and presenting your case. Your time spent on the claim will be very minimal. You will be able to focus on getting well-which can sometimes be a full-time job in itself.

If a lawsuit has to be filed by your attorney, then the amount of time spent on the matter by the injured party increases somewhat, however it is always manageable. The time commitments are spread apart and always planned for in advance. Almost all of the time on a case is actually spent by the lawyer and the lawyer's staff, which is why time constraints should not stop you from pursuing a claim if you're injured.
