The Anderson Law Firm's 3rd Annual College Bowls Contest

Update 1/7/2014:

Well, it's all over for another year! Fortunately, our March Madness contest is right around the corner.

The National Championship Game took place last night, and Florida State beat Auburn, 34-31.

Congratulations to our contest winners:

First Place = Genu Wine (a.k.a. James Wine, of Haslet, TX)
Second Place = Bowl Nostradamus (a.k.a. our very own Rieker Carsey)
Third Place = Coach B (a.k.a. David Barnard, of Hurst, TX)

Congratulations to all three of you. We'll be in touch very soon to let you know how to claim your prizes.

An honorable mention is also due to MattK (a.k.a. Matt Kaler of Keller, TX) who technically finished on the same number of points as Rieker and David, but who lost out due to the tiebreaker question regarding the total number of points scored in the championship game. Better luck next year, Matt!

Of course, as previously mentioned, our March Madness Contest is going to be starting up in just two months' time. It's still too early to make your picks, obviously, but you can go ahead and pre-register now and we'll let you know when the contest is up and running.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's College Bowls Contest. We hope you all had as much fun as we did.

Update 1/6/14:

Just like this weekend's NFC games, the conclusion to our College Bowls Contest is shaping up to be a nailbiting afair. Here's what the top of the leaderboard looks like currently:

First Place (on 25 points): Genu Wine

Tied for Second Place (each on 24 points): MattK, Bowl Nostradamus, JWB, Coach B, marcus23

With just the National Championship game to play today, it could be any one of these six people who take the top prize. In fact, there's a very good chance that the tiebraker will be neccessary in order to determine the final rank of First, Second and Third.

Click here to see the full leaderboard.

Even if you don't have a chance of winning a prize, I hope you've had an enjoyable time taking part in our College Bowls Contest this year - we sure have! Remember, our March Madness Contest is right around the corner - and this year we're going to do things a little differently so that there are even more chances to win! Click here to pre-register now and we'll let you know when it's time to make your picks.

Tonight's game, as if you didn't know, is the VIZIO BCS National Championship Bowl between No. 1 Florida State and No. 2 Auburn. It kicks off at 7:30pm CST.

Here's a roundup of the scores for all games played since Friday:

Clemson 40, Ohio State 35
Missouri 41, Oklahoma State 31
Vanderbilt 41, Houston 24
Arkansas State 23, Ball State 20

Update 1/3/14:

Oklahome beat Alabama 45-31.

What does that mean for our College Bowls Contest? Not a whole lot - at least not at the top of our leaderboard, where things are essentially the same as they were this time yesterday.

With five games to play this weekend (before the National Championship Bowl on Monday night), however, there'll surely be some shake up by the time this contest wraps.

We'll post a major update right here on Mondauy morning.

In the meantime, here are the next few upcoming games:

Discover Orange Bowl
Clemson vs. Ohio State   7:30 pm

Update 1/2/14:

Happy New Year!!!

Our College Bowls Contest is certainly heating up - there currently fewer people in the top three places than ever before. But with six games still to play, technically anyone still has a chance to win.

Here's how things currently stand:

First Place: Genu Wine

Tied for Second Place: MattK, YorkieMom, JWB

Tied for Third Place: Daniel, Gamelady64, Bowl Nostradamus, MattW1234, marcus23, Drkats, Jaco, JImbo, Orchid817

There are also another 19 people tied for fourth place.

Click here to see the full leaderboard.

Remember - if there are still people tied witihn the top three spots once all games have been played, the prize winners will be determined by the tiebreaker. Make sure you log in and double check you have filled out all your picks completely.

Here are the results of all the games played since our last update:

Update 12/31/13:

There weren't too many surprises in yesterday's bowl games. Although that's easier to say in retrospect. Obviously if it was that obvious who was going to win each game, this contest wouldn't be as much fun! As it is, there have been some changes at the top of our leaderboard:

Genu Wine is currently the sole person in First Place, followed closely by MattK, Bowl Nostradamus and JWB all tied just one point behind in Second Place.

Click here to see the full leaderboard.

The results from all four games are as follows:

Navy 24, Middle Tennessee 6
Ole Miss 25, Georgia Tech 17
