Dalworthington Gardens, Texas is a small city located in Tarrant Country between Fort Worth and Arlington with a population of little over 2,100. The name Dalworthington Gardens is a result of combining parts of the names of its three anchor cities: Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington. The town shares it's northern border with Pantego, both towns are now entirely surrounded by the city of Arlington. The town's slogan is “A rural oasis in the heart of the metroplex.”

In 2011, Dalworthington Gardens will celebrate it's 75th Anniversary. The origin of the town can be traced back to Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidency and in particular his belief in the “back to the land” movement. While visiting the local area, Eleanor Roosevelt saw the potential for a homestead on the land south of Arkansas Lane. In early 1934, the federal government allotted $250,000 to buy 593.3 acres of land to contain 80 sites for development. In the center of the project, forty-three acres were reserved for a park and community house.

Given the town's small population, there are no colleges or universities in the town and it's schools fall under the jurisdiction of Arlington Independent School District. Dalworthington Gardens is served by Key Elementary School, Gunn Junior High School, Martin High School, and Arlington Hight School.
