Located just over 5 miles from DFW International Airport, Grapevine is a centrally located suburb in the middle of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Deriving its name from the many wild mustang grape vines in the area, Grapevine was the site to a very important treaty signing in North Texas history. In 1843, a treaty of friendship and peace was signed between Sam Houston and other representatives of Republic of Texas with the 10 American Indian nations that ultimately safely opened the region for U.S. settlement. Today the city has a population of over 50,000 and has capitalized on its rich land full of grape vines with several wine stores in the historic downtown area and nine vineyards/wineries.

Grapevine is known for its many festivals around the world. The most popular festival, GrapeFest is held annually in the early fall and includes live music, food & wine events, a carnival for the kids and much more. For the connoisseurs of fine wine and gourmet food, GrapeFest also features a black tie formal gala that includes the conventional Vintner's Auction.
