How Injury Lawyers Are Paid

One advantage to making a claim is the way that legal contracts are structured by personal injury attorneys. These contracts are called contingent fee contracts, meaning the attorney only gets paid if he or she is successful in winning compensation for the injured party. The way that the Anderson Law Firm contingent fee contract is written shows that we front all of the time and all of the necessary case expenses for your case. If our firm is successful and wins your case, then-and only then-do we get paid a percentage of your recovery and reimbursed our out-of-pocket expenses. If for some (unlikely) reason we are not successful in winning a case, then our client does not have to pay us any fee or reimburse us for any of the case expenses.

Our clients do NOT have to write a check for a retainer fee when they hire us, nor do they receive a bill from our firm each month. Instead, our clients are never out any money to hire us and they don't ever have to pay us a dime unless we win their case for them. Contingent fee contracts allow all Texans-regardless of their financial situation-access to the legal system. Without these types of contracts, there would be no way for the average Texan to be able to afford a lawyer to fight the insurance company and its own army of high-priced lawyers.
