What is a Letter of Protection (or LOP)? Learn How This Allows You To Receive The Medical Care You Need

A letter of protection is a document provided by an attorney of an injured party to a medical provider which informs the medical provider that they will be paid for their medical services at the conclusion of the personal injury claim. It gives the medical provider (whether it be a primary care doctor, a chiropractor or other healthcare professional) the assurance that they will indeed be paid for their important services.

As a Fort Worth personal injury law firm, we feel the best thing about a LOP is that it allows the injured party to receive treatment when they do not have the financial ability to do so otherwise. Currently, many people in the State of Texas do not have health insurance. If they are involved in an automobile accident and injured, their options for receiving medical care are very limited:
• They could rely on the public health system, which is very challenging at times.

• They could pay out of pocket, but to do so is extremely expensive.
