Mansfield is a city of approximately 60,000 located to the south of Arlington and to the southeast of Fort Worth. The city of Mansfield has an award winning public park system that is over 500 acres, and includes 11 different parks. Mansfield also has its own independent school system, which currently educates about 33,000 students.
Mansfield is also conveniently located approximately 30 minutes by car to both the Dallas-Fort Worth International airport and to Dallas Love Field, as well. Because of Mansfield's suburban setting, it is a great place for young families to move to in North Texas.
The first settlers of the Mansfield area were of Scotch-Irish decent, and came to the area in the 1840's. The area was appealing to early pioneers because of its proximity to the Trinity River, and also its location near the fort.
