The Appropriate Gear To Minimize Injuries From A Motorcycle Accident

Hopefully, you will never get into a motorcycle wreck. Unfortunately, as a personal injury lawyer practicing in Dallas/Fort Worth, I know that if a wreck occurs, serious injuries usually are the result. Since not all drivers here in the DFW metroplex watch out for motorcyclists, it makes sense to wear appropriate riding gear to minimize damage in motorcycle crashes. It makes sense to wear abrasion-resistant fabric with CE-approved armor in all the right places. For the best protection, you should wear full motorcycle gear when riding: helmet, armored motorcycle jacket, armored motorcycle pants, gloves and protective boots.

Use Your Head - Use a Helmet

Helmets are especially important. In Texas, 68% of motorcyclists who have died following collisions were not wearing a helmet. NHTSA estimates that helmets saved 1,829 bikers' lives in 2008, and that 823 more could have been saved if all motorcyclists wore helmets. You might not be able to avoid every accident, but you can take precautions to make sure your injuries are minimized if you do get in a motorcycle crash.
