The Insurance Company Will Not Pay For Your Medical Treatment On Time

Under no circumstances will the negligent party's insurance company pay your medical bills or lost wages as they come due. The insurance company will pay for your car repairs at the beginning of a claim, but won't cough up another dime until the end of the claim. While you are incurring medical bills and missing out on your wages, there is absolutely no monetary compensation from the other side's insurance company.

Does that seem right? No, not at all. Common decency says that if we cause a problem, then we need to do what we can to fix it. If only the claims process worked under that same principle. Instead, if you're hurt by someone else's negligence, you must fend for yourself until the claim is over. Should the at-fault person's insurance company pay for your medical care as it happens (such as in a workers' compensation claim)? Absolutely, the insurance company should do that, but it never happens. Unfortunately, the Golden Rule apparently does not apply to insurance companies.
