What Constitutes an Injury?

Next, a claim requires some sort of injury to a human being. A personal injury claim does not include injury to your car or some other non human object. It has to be an injury to your body. The Anderson Law Firm routinely handles car accident cases involving serious injuries. In such cases, there is usually a corresponding property damage claim. Our firm will provide assistance in resolving property damage as a courtesy to our clients while we are also handling their bodily injury claims.

So what exactly constitutes an injury?

A civil claim can be made when you have any sort of injury to your body which necessitates medical treatment. While the law does not actually require that there be medical treatment, both juries and insurance companies expect you to seek medical treatment before they will believe that an actual injury occurred. If your injury is such that you don't feel it's serious enough to go to the doctor or hospital, then you should really consider yourself lucky and not think further about pursuing an injury claim.
