Defective Zimmer NexGen CR and Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex Porous Femoral Knee Implants

The Fort Worth personal injury lawyers at the Anderson Law Firm are currently accepting clients affected by the defective Zimmer NexGen CR and Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex Porous Femoral implants. These knee implants have been commercially available since 2003 and within that time more than 150,000 of the artificial knee replacement prostheses have been sold. However, surgeons using the devices have found that they are defective and that 36% of the implants became loose within two years of the original surgery. 9.3% of patients who have received these implants have had to undergo additional surgery in order to correct the defect. Compare this to similar implants, where statistics show only 25% of knee replacements will become lose after 10 years.
If you have been affected by this defective product, you need to contact a Texas medical malpractice attorney.

The Zimmer NexGen CR and Zimmer NexGen CR-Flex Porous Femoral implants are different from other prostheses on the market as they do not use any cement to attach them to the bone. A study presented to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons concluded this design defect was the cause of the loosening. Patients affected have complained of chronic pain, swelling, unexplained stiffness, difficult walking or putting weight on their knee joint and limping. If have received either of these implants and believe you may be affected by the hardware failure, you should consult your doctor who can determine your situation by scanning or x-raying your bones.
