Justin Bieber Says Don’t Text & Drive – We Say Bravo Justin!

Posted on Jul 12, 2011

Justin Bieber says don't text & drive!I never thought that as a personal injury attorney in Fort Worth I'd be writing about Justin Bieber, but then again stranger things have happened. Much to my delight (and I'm sure to my young daughter's) Justin Bieber announced the launch of a new campaign which will promote responsible text messaging through a cell phone app. The Drive SafeTM app made by PhoneGuard will disable texting, emailing, and keyboard functions on your phone if you're driving faster than 10 miles per hour.

Justin is also teaming up with the Remember Alex Brown Foundation to promote his campaign. In case you don't read our blogs often, Alex was a beautiful Texas high school student who was killed in a car accident caused by texting and driving. Since then, her family has made it their mission to prevent distracted drivers.

In his official comment about the app, Bieber said, "As a 17-year-old driver, I am aware of the countless distractions that we teenagers face on the road, and texting is one that is preventable. There are too many young people, like Alex Brown, whom we've lost because of texting while driving, and it is my hope that, through this partnership with PhoneGuard, we will raise awareness of this issue and create safer conditions for everyone on the road."

At the Anderson Law Firm in Fort Worth, we are very pleased that young people like Justin Bieber are trying to spread the word on just how dangerous texting and driving is. Now if only we could get him to promote our Teens Against Distracted Driving Campaign!
