New Jersey school bus driver Carole Crockett, was arrested during her bus route and faces 25 counts of DUI with a minor, driving under the influence on school property, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a child after she drove her school bus drunk Monday afternoon. At the time, 25 students were on the bus. The students quickly noticed that the bus driver was not alright and some students began to call and text their parents, "Mommy I think our bus driver is drunk."
Their bus driver was indeed very drunk, in fact she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.25 percent - that's five times the legal limit for operating a commercial vehicle! Students said the bus was swerving all over the road and that kids began to yell that they didn't want to die today. Thankfully, the bus driver was pulled over before she caused a bus accident after parents notified the school of what was going on.
Can you imagine how scary this must have been for those children on board? The quick-thinking on their part to use their cell phones and inform their parents of about their drunken bus driver could have saved their lives. I hope this idiot bus driver is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and that she is stripped of her driver's license for good. Bus wrecks can happen so easily, even when the driver is completely sober. Being drunk during the middle of the day for your bus route is the sign of someone with a serious problem. Hopefully this woman gets the help she needs and thank goodness the kids on that bus are alright.
