Today, federal accident investigators finally agreed with what our personal injury law firm has been saying for years when they called for a nationwide ban on the use of cell phones and text messaging devices while driving.
According to the National Transportation Board, states should ban all driver use of cell phones and other portable electronic devices, except in emergencies. Their reasoning is simple: mixing hand-held cell phones and driving causes car accidents and you don’t have to be a Fort Worthcar wreck lawyer to know that. Through the years at our practice, we’ve seen then number of accidents caused by drivers on their cell phones either talking or texting increase greatly. Just recently, the city of Arlington put into effect a ban on texting and driving and we hope more cities in DFW do the same – especially with the new NTSB recommendations.
“No call, no text, no update is worth a human life,” said Deborah A. P. Hersman, chairman of the N.T.S.B
It will be up to the states to decide whether they want to follow the agency’s recommendation and everyone at the Anderson Law Firm, including myself, hopes they will. If you or a loved one has been hurt in a car wreck caused by a driver on a cell phone, call us at 817-294-1900 to learn more about our legal services.
