A tractor trailer carrying bags of dog food has overturned on I-35E near DeSoto, shutting down traffic in both directions, causing substantial delays. All Northbound vehicles heading into Dallas are being forced to exit at Wintergreen, with severe backups from Belt Line Road.
The accident occurred shortly before 3.30 this afternoon, just south of I-20. Early reports have not identified what caused the wreck to occur, or whether there are any injuries. Traffic reports suggest that there is debris across the road and that all lanes of the freeway will be shut down for some time while an investigation and cleanup is conducted.
