As a Fort Worth personal injury lawyer, I don't normally advocate speeding whether on a motorcycle or driving a car, truck or other vehicle. But Bill Warner's 311 mph rider was done safely off road at Loring Air Force Base in Maine and he successfully broke his own world record (set last October at the Texas Mile). He became the first motorcyclist to ride faster than 300 mph. Check out this awesome video shot from Warner's perspective throughout the ride. It's pretty incredible!
Congratulations to Bill!!
Normally, of course, speeding is incredibly dangerous, and is one of the leading causes of fatal motorcycle wrecks. In Texas alone, there are on average 2,100 fatal auto collisions each year where the primary cause was a speeding driver. Ours is a culture where we expect instant gratification, but that is not possible when you're driving. Everyone wants to get where they're going as fast as possible. Really, we should be focusing on arriving at our destination safely and in one piece. Preferably without endangering any other road users in the process!
