State Fair of Texas is Officially Open! Tips to Beat the Traffic So You Can Get to the Fried Food

Posted on Oct 02, 2011

Can you smell it? It's the smell of delicious corn dogs, funnel cakes and fried butter...? Yes folks, it's that beautiful time of year when we can all enjoy fried delicacies at the annual state fair of Texas. Not much will stop native Texans from making the yearly trip to the fair - except maybe a little traffic. But fear not! The Anderson Law Firm has some advice on how you can get to the fair (and the fried Snickers) and minimize your traffic headache.

  • Take the Trinity Railway Express: With five stations in Tarrant County and cheap fairs, it's one of the best transportation options fair-goers have. Adults pay $10 for a day passes, kids 5-14 pay $2 and children under 4 are free.
  • Avoid going to the fair during the Red River Rivalry: Texas vs. OU weekend is next Saturday so save yourself some trouble and avoid the fair - that is unless you're a die-hard Texas or OU fan.
  • Park at official lots: To ensure your car's safety, park at the official state fair of Texas parking lots for $15, or if you're a high roller, you can valet for $30.

So get out there, grab something fried and say hello to Big Tex for us!
