The Internet is buzzing with a disturbing video shot in 2004 of an Aransas county family law judge beating his teenage daughter. The shocking video lasts for seven minutes and shows the Texas judge hitting his daughter with a belt and cursing at her because she downloaded games and music from websites her parents disapproved of. According to the judges daughter, Hillary Adams, she decided to secretly set up cameras in her family's home because "she knew something was about to happen." On the Today Show this morning, Hillary Adams said that violence was a regular occurrence in her home and that she waited to post the video out of fear of what would happen to herself, her mom and sister. After getting harassed by her father recently, Hillary said she decided to post the video.
Now, the video is being investigated and Judge Adams will be temporarily relieved of his duties for two weeks. Although we don't want to post this video on our blog due to its graphic content, you can watch it here: http://youtu.be/Wl9y3SIPt7o
Under the video description, Judge Adams daughter writes, "Judge William Adams is not fit to be anywhere near the law system if he can't even exercise fit judgment as a parent himself. Do not allow this man to ever be re-elected again. His 'judgment' is a giant farce. Signed, Hillary Adams, his daughter."
As a lawyer and a father, I have to agree. The abuse that is shown in this video is inexcusable. Fit to judge? This guy isn't even fit to parent.
