At my personal injury law firm in Fort Worth, I've been looking out the windows for signs of smoke from the raging wildfires just west of us around Possum Kingdom Lake.
Fires have scorched more than 700,000 acres of land in West Texas and destroyed about 50 homes.
Texas wildfires are a force to be reckoned with and can pop up anywhere in a matter of seconds, destroying everything in their path. If you're a home owner, now would be a good time to take out your homeowners insurance and check to see if you're properly insured for a fire loss.
Until we get some relief from Mother Nature, I don't doubt wildfires will continue to be a serious problem for Texans. I'll be praying for rain and for the safety of all those in the paths of these fires until they're put out.
