Dallas North Tollway Closes Due to Accident

An accident occurred early Thursday morning that caused part of the Plano section of the Dallas North Tollway to close for several hours.

The accident was caused after a driver in a Ford Mustang travelling northbound collided with a BMW vehicle travelling northbound as well. The crash caused the Mustang to lose control and collide with two other vehicles. The driver and passenger of the BMW were transported to a Plano hospital where they were treated for their serious injuries. Although the exact cause of the accident at the time was unclear, police arrested the driver of the Mustang under suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DUI).

Traffic on the tollway was rerouted while the accident was investigated and cleared. No individuals in the other vehicles involved in the crash suffered serious injuries.

At my firm, I’ve seen countless victims of drunk driving accidents suffer very serious injuries, but it never gets any easier, especially since drunk driving accidents are one hundred percent avoidable. I know this must be a difficult time for the victims and their family, and I wish them a speedy recovery.
