32-year-old Motty Key was arrested on Saturday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol and hitting a Fort Worth police officer’s vehicle. The accident took place at Montgomery Street and West Freeway, where the officer was at the scene of a hit-and-run accident. The officer was on the shoulder of the road when Key impacted his vehicle. The officer was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and was taken to the hospital.
Key was charged with intoxicated driving. In addition to this current charge, Key has previously been charged with intoxicated driving and at the time of his arrest had multiple warrants from other cities.
At my firm, I’ve seen countless victims of drunk driving accidents suffer very serious injuries, but it never gets any easier, especially since drunk driving accidents are one hundred percent avoidable. I know this must be a difficult time for the police officer and their family, and I wish them a speedy recovery.
