A motorcyclist passed away Monday evening after suddenly moving across three traffic lanes and colliding with another vehicle. The accident occurred on South Freeway at around 9:50 p.m.
The motorcyclist, 82-year-old Hung Quang La, died after suffering multiple blunt force injuries. After hitting the other vehicle, Hung Quang La hit a concrete barrier. Police state the cause of death was an accident.
It is not clear why he moved across the three lanes of traffic.
Motorcycle accidents are notorious for causing serious injuries, since motorcyclists are more exposed (and therefore more vulnerable) than regular drivers. As a car accident attorney, I know how difficult the aftermath of a wreck like this can be.
