Over 200 accidents were reported between early morning and the morning rush hour in Fort Worth on Thursday.  These accidents were caused by vehicles losing traction on roads with ice.

Of these accidents, 12 involved rollovers. The weather in North Texas drastically fluctuated from an average of 60 degrees (Fahrenheit) on Wednesday to under 20 degrees overnight on Thursday. The commute of many drivers, including those who were driving to work or school, were significantly delayed in certain accident locations. Some locations of these accidents included sections of the eastbound I-30/southbound I-35 ramp, northbound 820 at I-30, and Hemphill Road and I-20.

Furthermore, over 300 flights at DFW International Airport were delayed. Over 20 flights at Dallas Love Field were delayed as well. Some flights were cancelled altogether because of the runway conditions.

At around 10:45 a.m. the Fort Worth Police Department issued a statement that all roads were opened, but to drive with caution.

As a car accident attorney, I know how difficult the aftermath of a wreck like this can be. I wish all injured victims and their families a speedy recovery.
