Four vehicles and an 18-wheeler were involved in a wreck on Thursday. The accident took place on highway 377 in Westlake at around 10:30 p.m. The accident occurred after a driver, 29-year-old Richard Rivas of Grapevine ran a red light and crashed into an 18-wheeler.

After being rushed to the hospital, Rivas passed away after suffering blunt-force trauma to the chest and abdomen. A passenger without injuries in the vehicle Rivas was driving was released at the scene of the accident.

In addition to the 18-wheeler, four other vehicles were hit in the midst of the accident, but no other individuals were injured. The accident is still under investigation.

As a car accident attorney, I know how difficult the aftermath of a wreck like this can be. I wish the victims’ and their families a speedy recovery.
