CORPUS CHRISTI – Tuesday, a 26-year-old male allegedly blacked out while driving his pickup truck on FM 624, causing the truck to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with another vehicle.

Two women, Rita Lynn Alegria, 26, and Amy Alaniz Puga, 42, were pronounced dead at the scene. A child and a fourth 24-year old passenger were taken to the hospital.

The truck driver who caused the accident was known to have seizures, and now his medical problem is being investigated as the cause of the accident.

The big question is this: If the trucker had a history of seizures, was he legally allowed to be driving? And if so, can he be held responsible for the deaths of the innocent victims?
