New Year’s Eve is always a fantastic time to celebrate with friends and family. However, it’s one of the most dangerous nights to be on the roads due to drunk drivers. According to the National Safety Council an estimated 163 people will die while driving during the New Year’s Day holiday period on U.S. roads. That statistic is horrible.
One of the most frustrating things I see in my job is people being injured or killed because of someone’s senseless decision to drive after they’d been drinking. I see the devastation every week. It’s crazy as these wrecks are one hundred percent avoidable and inexcusable.
Let’s be smart and safe. I highly encourage everyone to please be responsible this New Year’s and either stay in or call a cab or Uber/Lyft if you decide to drink. We need to keep our roads safe for those who are traveling to enjoy time with their loved ones. Me personally, I think staying in is the best option!
