A Truck Driver Injured by Another Truck Driver
The day of the accident started just like any other work day for David. He was on the road operating his tractor-trailer when out of nowhere, another 18-wheeler crossed two lanes of highway traffic and collided with David’s truck.
The impact was severe. Like something out of a horror movie, metal crunched into metal, and both trucks immediately caught fire.
Miraculously, David survived the accident and was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for a multitude of injuries to his neck, shoulder, head and back. Even after being discharged, however, David’s pain continued. He wasn’t sure what to do next. How was he going to pay for the additional medical treatment he needed? And how could he ensure that the other driver’s insurance company paid him what he deserved?
That’s when David contacted us. We listened to the details of his accident and assured him that we’d handle everything. We set David up with doctors we trust, who did additional medical imaging and concluded that David would require two surgeries: one to remove previous hardware installed in his spine, and another to perform a neck fusion. Both surgeries successfully treated David’s neck pain, but another problem arose: an MRI on David’s let shoulder showed a paralabral cyst and a rotator cuff tear, which would require yet another surgery to repair.
After these multiple surgeries (and many physical therapy sessions), David was on the road to recovery. Of course, it didn’t come without a cost. At this point, David’s medical bills exceeded one million dollars. Even more, David missed a substantial amount of time from his job due to his injuries, which translated into lost wages.
We have experience fighting insurance companies not just for compensation for medical bills, but also for lost wages, loss of life enjoyment, pain and suffering. We gathered all the necessary evidence for David’s case, then fought the insurance company on David’s behalf. We argued that David should have never suffered the way that he had, and all his pain, lost earnings and medical bills could have been avoided if only the other driver hadn’t veered into his lane.
In the end, we were able to recover all the money David needed to cover his medical bills, plus additional compensation for all his suffering. We’re glad to say David is back on his feet now, and we’re so glad we were able to help him through this difficult time.
